METHOD OF REPAIR OF PIPE LINE DEFORMED BY BENDING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: repair of main pipe lines and production pipe lines deformed by bending forming mechanical defects, such as corrugations. SUBSTANCE: strengthening coupling is welded from cylindrical sections of pipe of larger diameter having skew cuts at the end faces; total angle of skew cuts is equal to angle of turn of axis of pipe line at point of defect; adapter cones welded at ends of cylindrical section are used for connecting the pipe line through technological rings. Coupling is cut into two longitudinal halves and one of them is mounted in extensible zone of bending in heated state. After welding t to rings and cooling; second half of coupling is welded. Cavity of coupling is filled with anticorrosive compound of strengthening compound. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability. 3 cl, 2 dwg
