FIELD: technology of production of water glass used in capacity of binder, additive or reagent in construction, oil producing and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary grinding of silicates; mixing with water and heating; subsequent atomization of silicates by hydroacoustic treatment; circulation of water and reaction mass with concurrent exposure to microwave field with energy density of 0.3-0.8 kW/sq.cm; dissolving of silicates in reactor. Reactor for silicates dissolving has body, systems for thermostatic control and mixing, chute and branch pipes, circulation system in the form of hydroacoustic pump and pipes connected with reactor cavity. One part of pipes at the outlet of hydroacoustic pump is made of two layers with external metal layer and hole for connection with waveguide - source of microwave radiation, and with internal layer of low-loss dielectric. External and internal layers are rigidly connected by metal rings symmetrical to hole for connection with wave guide. EFFECT: reduced time for production of water glass, increased yield of product from production unit, improved filterability of water glass and reduced energy consumption. 2 cl, 1 dwg
