FIELD: development of thick and medium-thick seams of coal with stable and unstable roof in breakage faces equipped with powered supports with sliding cutting noses. SUBSTANCE: process of uninterrupted winning of coal includes development of seam with separation into coal bands by thickness. Combine makes cut at distance not less than its entire length from conveyer working in section of long wall with formation of coal pillar wedge-shaped in plan view. After cutting of screws of combine into whole depth of cut screw frontal by advance of combine is lifted to roof of seam and final operations for junction with conveyer working are performed in period of operations of combine for excavation of coal. Speed of attachment of roof is matched with speed of excavation of coal by combine by change of thicknesses of excavated lower and upper coal bands, arrangement and sequence of movement of sections of support or extendible cutters. During work of combine on backward run final operations for junction with air heading are performed. With start of cutting of wedge-shaped coal pillar screw of combine, frontal by run of combine, is lifted to level of partially extended cutters. As cutting goes cutters are extended too with cutting of under-roof coal band to entire width of excavation cycle. Front screw is lifted to roof of seam and the rest of coal pillar near conveyer working is removed. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of coal excavation, increased bulk-up of excavated coal in time, improved productivity of machines of excavating complex and labour productivity due to integration of key operation of excavation cycle with execution of auxiliary operations in time. 6 cl, 10 dwg
