FIELD: medical instruments. SUBSTANCE: linear ion accelerator has moving and fixed accelerating sections and their connecting devices. Accelerating sections are supplied with power from respective components of high- frequency power system. Beam rotation system is mounted on device interconnecting moving and fixed sections. Master oscillator has synchronizing and phasing parts. Rotation system has moving acceleration section; longitudinal axes of beam in sections are relatively offset through distances equal to radius of revolution of moving section. Traveling-wave linear accelerator uses spatial reverse harmonic. EFFECT: reduced size of ion accelerator and rotation system. 6 cl, 3 dwg
