FIELD: technology of preparing perfluoroalkanes, more particularly hexafluoroethane, octafluoropropane, decafluorobutane used as dielectrics, coolants and compositions in film- forming and other compositions. SUBSTANCE: perfluoroalkanes are prepared by fluorination of C2-C4 perfluoroalkanes in homogeneous phase in low molecular perfluorinated solvent at concentration of 1-5% of compound being fluorinated. Process temperature varies from minus 35 to minus 15 C. Yield of desired products is 99-99.9%. EFFECT: simplified process, and high purity and yield of the desired product. 2 cl, 3 ex, 2 tbl
