FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: secondary distillates evaporating at temperatures ranging from 21-205 C and/or 140-360 C in admixture with directly distilled fraction are subjected to hydropurification at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of hydrogen in two stages using 1st and 2nd stage catalysts at 1:2-6 weight ratio. Fraction evaporating at 185 is then isolated and is subjected to catalytic reforming. Hydropurification is carried out at 200-320 C in 1st stage and at 280-380 C in 2nd stage. Either individual fraction of secondary distillates in admixture with directly distilled fraction or mixture of secondary distillates in admixture with directly distilled fraction is subjected to hydropurification at secondary distillate to directly distilled fraction ratio from 5-50 to 95-50%. EFFECT: higher degree of hydrogenation and hydrodesulfurization of secondary distillates, and quality of fuel is maintained. 4 cl, 14 ex, 2 tbl
