FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of high-sulfur petroleums to produce high-antiknock gasoline and diesel fuel. Petroleum is first heated and separated into gaseous, long petroleum fraction with dry point no higher than 350 C, and heavy fraction. The latter is subjected to hydrocracking to give long hydrocracking fraction with dry point no higher than 350 C and heavy hydrocracking fraction. Long petroleum fraction is fed in vapor phase into motor fuel production reactor containing fixed reactor bed simultaneously with long hydrocracking fraction. Resulting desulfurized gasoline and diesel fractions are passed into rectification column, wherein they are separated into C1-C2 and H2S gases, C3-C4 fraction, gasoline and diesel fractions.
