FIELD: refractory materials. SUBSTANCE: composite capable of working in loaded engine units in oxidative atmosphere at temperatures above 100 C contains refractory metal - tungsten and/or molybdenum and nickel monoaluminide. Composite structure is made in the form of three-dimensional refractory metal lattice with 1-5 mcm cells filled with nickel monoaluminide. Material contains, atomic %: Al 35-48, Ni 35-48, W and/or Mo 30-4 where up to 12 at. % Ni can be substituted by niobium and/or titanium so that material would contain: Al 35-48, Ni 23-48, Nb and/or Ti up to 12, and W and/or Mo 30-4. Preliminarily prepared powdered nickel monoaluminide is coated with refractory metal to coating thickness 1 to 5 mcm, compacted, and sintered. Compression yield strength of material at 1200 C is 110 MPa. Oxidation at continuous heating in air of material and pure compacted nickel monoaluminide did not differ.
