FIELD: wing-electric power engineering. SUBSTANCE: unit has windwheel mounted on horizontal shaft; in addition, it is provided with nacelle rotating about vertical axis with windwheel emerging from it; windwheel has hub carrying fixed crescent-shaped blades of specific profile and twist as viewed on top which are arranged on surface of cone with axis aligned with that of shaft, their tops being aimed at nacelle and rigidly fixed on ends with annular shroud; total area of blades, as viewed on top, is close to surface area swept by them; shroud has thin profile and its width is not smaller than that of blade. EFFECT: improved efficiency, reduced subsonic noise generated by unit, simplified design, and improved power capacity. 3 dwg
