FIELD: devices for dampening high impact loads; hydraulic shock absorbers used in heavy-duty machines, viz: rolling mills, heavy-cargo trucks, etc. SUBSTANCE: hydraulic damper includes working cylinder, piston, rod, dirt-protective casing, liquid-flow throttling valve and bypass valve. Hollow rod forms one part with piston; it is mounted in guide band in upper end section of cylinder. Dirt protective casing secured on rod at the top is made in form of sleeve with hole in bottom directed upward. Casing embraces cylinder on the outside; sealing cord is laid between cylinder and casing in outer circular bore. Thrust cover is mounted at the top of casing. Cover is connected with outer end surface of dirt-protective casing through sealing cord and circular gasket having locking projections used for keeping the cover on casing against turning. Liquid-flow throttling valve fitted in seat of piston has central orifice which is connected with under-piston cavity in lower portion by means of radial holes and is shut-off by bypass spring-loaded valve.
