METHOD OF ASSEMBLY OF SHUT-OFF MEMBER OF GATE VALVE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of fittings; facilitated manufacture of gate valves with round shut-off plates. SUBSTANCE: method includes mounting three similar ceramic disks in housing provided with flanged cover. These disks are provided with straightway ports located at interval of 120 deg over circumference and with projections and recesses alternating over peripheral surface. Side ceramic disks of shut-off member are kept from turning relative to housing and flanged cover, respectively. Center ceramic disk is kept from turning relative to swivel holder which is connected with drive member. Before assembly, disks are made with recesses shifted relative to axis of symmetry of straightway ports in one side in way of rotation of center disk, by 15 deg for example. Prior to fitting the disks in housing, locking members are fitted and first side ceramic disk is mounted, after which its recesses are matched with locking members. Prior to mounting the center disks in holder, it is turned through 180 deg relative to axis running through its end surface. In mounting the center disk in holder, recesses of peripheral surface are matched with recesses of holder holes. Additional locking members are received by matched recesses of disk and holder. Then additional locking members and third side ceramic disk are mounted in flanged cover. Recesses of third side ceramic disk coincide with above-mentioned additional locking members.
