AIR SAFETY VALVE OF CONDENSER WATER CHAMBER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: steam turbines. SUBSTANCE: air safety valve of condenser water chamber is included in condenser of steam turbine; it is used for quickly bleeding air in starting the pump feeding cooling water to condenser and admitting the air in stopping the pump. Valve has plate-type shut-off member, guide element for this member and seat forming pair together with shut-off member for bleeding the air in case of excessive pressure in water chamber of condenser. Besides that, valve has branch pipe with controllable gate valve for admitting the air which passes through hole in plate-type shut-off member; it is made in form of guide element. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency in bleeding the air from and admitting it to water chamber of condenser at optimal flow characteristics. 5 cl, 4 dwg
