FIELD: ammunition. SUBSTANCE: armor-piercing bullet has an envelope, carbide-alloy slug and a lead jacket in the form of a sleeve; the bullet length equals 4.2 to 4.6 d; the distance from the bullet head tip to the head tip of the carbide-alloy slug equals 0.6 to 1.0 d, and the thickness of the lead jacket equals 0.3 to 0.5 d, where d-bullet caliber; the envelope is made open from the bullet tail end face and has the shape of a truncated cone. The invention enhances the piercing effect by 2 to 2.5 times as compared with standard 5.45-mm bullets, it provides for piercing of armored jackets, type 6Б3, at distances up to 500 m.
