METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF WATERPROOF LIME CLINKER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: production of refractories; applicable in production of resistant to hydration of lime clinker of grainy materials, mixtures for manufacture of crucibles, articles and lining of casting ladles and tundishes, converters, electric steel melting furnace. SUBSTANCE: method provides for use of lime raw materials in form of limestone and/or chalk ground by crushing or milling, decarbonization for 80-100% by weight at 900-1300 C, with further introduction of 30-90 wt.% of limestone and/or chalk and 0.1-15.0 wt. % of sintering additive raising refractoriness of clinker. Then, mixture is hydrated by 10-70% by weight, and compacted into ellipsoid granules with small axis equalling of less than 20 mm and with large-small axes ratio of (1.1-2):1, and sintered. EFFECT: reduced power consumption for production of clinker, simplified process and increased density of clinker.
