FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: comparison sample of gasoline displaying excitation and radiation spectrum and stable value of output fluorescence is calibrated by value of intensity of fluorescence of standard grades of commercial gasoline. Then fluorescence is excited within limits of halfwidth of excitation band in comparison sample and in sample of identified gasoline. Integral value of intensity of fluorescence of identified gasoline and comparison sample is recorded in dark blue-green region of spectrum. Relation of measured values is determined and used to find out grade of identified gasoline by comparing obtained relation with value of fluorescence of standard grades of gasoline taken as unit. Device for implementation of method has comparison sample, mechanism of reciprocating motion where comparison sample and sample of gasoline to be identified are fixed.
