FIELD: agriculture, selection. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to development of cucumber strains showing resistance to spider mite. Method involves the estimation of an impropriety of plant specimens for the pest feeding. Lyophilized leaf tissue is incubated with an enzyme extract from the total homogenate of lyophilized spider mites followed by determination of amount of hydrolyzed starch that is used a criteria of cucumber plant resistance to spider mite. The less amount of starch is hydrolyzed the higher resistance of the strain. Method ensures to carry out the estimation of specimens resistance to spider mite for all-the-year-round period and requires small amount of selection material.
