FIELD: agriculture, specifically, farming agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method can find use in evaluation of physical properties of soils. Method is aimed at increased accuracy of determination of relation of volumes of capillary and noncapillary pores of soil. With this in mind one carries out full saturation first of capillary and then of noncapillary pores with subsequent drying of cartridge with soil to absolutely dry condition. Determination of volume of solid phase of soil is conducted by difference of volumes of specimen and total porosity. EFFECT: increased accuracy of method. 1 tbl
