FIELD: medicine; applicable in diagnoses, both, of external surfaces of skin, and also of internal organs, for instance, in diagnosis of carcinoma of uterine cervix. SUBSTANCE: device for embodiment of claimed method includes probe with shape suitable for contact with tissue. Probe has devices for acting on tissue with numerous various stimulants such as electrical, light, heat, sound, magnetic, and determination of physical response actions to said stimulants. Probe is connected to analog unit which serves as buffer for signals between probe and processor. To classify tissues, processor processes responses in definite combinations, and then, compares classified tissue with catalogue of expected types of tissues to identify the examined tissue. Processing of obtained data is carried out in real time, and type of tissue is indicated to operator. EFFECT: higher efficiency of use for diagnosis of a large number of tissue types and carcinoma in points difficult to access. 23 cl, 20 dwg
