METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING PARAMETERS AND MAPPING OF TISSUE LESIONS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B5/05 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2288636 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with the means for noninvasive early detection of alterations in vivo occurred in biochemical and/or functional characteristics of epithelial tissues in development of atypia, dysplasia, neoplasia and cancer, and, also, for mapping the degree of these alterations. The method is based upon simultaneous measuring spatial, temporal and spectral alterations in characteristics of light reradiated by the tissue under testing that take place as a result of combined tissue stimulation with light and special chemical agents. Topical or systematic application of such agents leads to short-term enhancement of contrast between normal and abnormal tissue areas. Systems for detecting parameters and mapping of tissue lesions provide fixation of time-successive images both in one spectral range and simultaneously in several spectral ranges. One of the systems contains an optic head, an optic system for focusing tissue-reradiated light, detectors of image, an applicator for applying an agent for recognizing the pathology onto a tissue sample, a light source for illuminating an object and optic filters. The seconds system, additionally, includes a probe designed with possibility to be fixed to interrupt movements between tissue and the optic head. Application of the present method enables to predict pre-cancer states at earlier stage of development.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of detection.
