FIELD: mechanical engineering; packing of long-cut bars and pipes; binding of packs, forming of handling belts and self-tightening slings directly on pack of rolled products. SUBSTANCE: product pack is introduced into feeder in form of coil arranged on binding line, and wire is wound on by successively separating coils from feeder and tightening them up on pack. Feeder can rotate in process of winding. Wire should be preferably cut before rotor comes to stop. To form two-loop self-tightening sling in form of spiral with alternating large and small- size coils forming member is used. Proposed method makes unnecessary preparation of coils with wire beforehand, which simplifies process of binding. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 14 cl, 25 dwg
