FIELD: ammunition. SUBSTANCE: the 9-mm cartridge has a bullet, powder charge, primer cap, case, like in cartridges cm3-5, cm3-6, with the following relations of dimensions: case length - 4.1 to 4.3 d; body diameter near the flange - 1.21 to 1.28 d; bottleneck of the case body - 1.1 to 1.15; length of case gradient - 0.17 to 0.18 d; the density of powder charge loading makes up 0.61 to 1.2 g/cu.cm, and the bullet weight coefficient makes up 14 to 32 g/cu.cm, which makes it possible to considerably enhance the ballistic characteristic of 9x39-mm cartridge and enhance the might of small-sized submachine guns A-9 "Vikhr" as to the piercing and wounding effects of the bullet, and direct fire range, close grouping of fire. Using the above relations of parameters, one can develop a sporting cartridge, whose characteristics considerably surpass those of 7.62x39-mm sporting cartridge. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
