FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to processes of electric osmotic drying of insulation of windings of electric machines during their operation and to prevention of humidification of insulation of windings of electrical machines during technological pauses. Essence of invention lies in cyclical application of constant voltage between conductors of windings and frame of machine connecting positive pole of source of constant voltage to conductors of winding and negative pole-to frame. Source of pulsating voltage with same polarity as constant one is placed in series with source of constant voltage. Each cycle is carried out with changing frequency of pulsating voltage. Process is conducted by alternation of cycles. Each first cycle is realized with frequency of pulsating voltage equal to 1000-1500 Hz in the course of 40-60 min, each second cycle is conducted with frequency of pulsating voltage equal to 20-50 Hz in the course of 10- 60 s. Number of alternations of two cycles amounts to one as minimum. EFFECT: intensified process of electric osmotic drying by selection of optimum parameters of drying. 1 tbl
