FIELD: electrical engineering; in-service drying of electrical machine winding insulation and prevention of its damping during outage periods.
SUBSTANCE: electroosmotic drying of electrical machine winding insulation is effected in a cyclic process by applying dc voltage and pulsating voltage of same polarity as dc voltage during each cycle. In the process pulsating voltage is applied during first cycle for 40 -50 min. at frequency of 1000 - 1500 Hz and during second cycle, for 10 - 60 s at 20 - 50 Hz. Novelty is that process is accompanied by third cycle conducted at dc voltage only for 1 - 3 min. at voltage equal to 50 - 75% of rated value, these three cycles being repeated minimum once.
EFFECT: augmented drying process and reduced repeatability of cycles due to ordering water molecules in electric field.
