FIELD: electrical engineering; drying electrical machine winding insulation in service and during outages. SUBSTANCE: method involves connection of dc and pulse voltage sources between winding conductors and ground to build up dc and square-pulse voltage, pulse polarity being same as that of dc voltage; novelty is that in addition inductance coil is connected in series with voltage sources. In the process inductance is varied to ensure square shape of resonant-voltage pulses and steep wavefront of current pulses directly in electrical-machine winding insulation.
