FIELD: communication equipment. SUBSTANCE: facsimile machine scans one document page which contains mix of fine image and standard image, and transmits page piece with fine image in high resolution mode, while page piece with standard image is transmitted in standard mode in order to decrease transmission duration while keeping image quality. This is achieved by comparison of previous line to current line in order to measure difference between number of pixels. If difference between number of pixels is not greater than threshold value, then receiving facsimile machine receives code of command for printing this image in same way as image of previous line. If difference between number of pixels is greater than threshold value, then scanned data are encoded using known encoded method and transmitted to receiving facsimile machine.
