FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: portable device capable of driving a piconetwork selects a logic channel when creating a piconetwork. The device includes a controller configured to create a first piconetwork. The controller is connected to at least one secondary device in the first piconetwork. The portable device includes a transmitter configured to interact with at least one secondary device over a wireless communication channel. The controller is configured to select communication channel resources based at least in part on resources assigned for a second piconetwork in order to mitigate interference between piconetworks. The controller is configured to create a first piconetwork for operation either in an interference free mode, when the controller is capable of setting up a connection with a second controller in the second piconetwork, or in compatibility interference mitigation mode, when the controller is not capable of setting up a connection with a second controller in the second piconetwork.
EFFECT: mitigating interference when multiple piconetworks are operating in the same frequency band.
