FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: water and regeneration solution are passed in countercurrent mode through ion-exchange filter completely filled with ionite and backwash is accomplished with one water stream consecutively passing through ion-exchange filter with intensity 1.25- 2.50 l/sq.m s and then through backwash tower with intensity 2.50-5.00 l/sq.m s, backwash tower receiving no more than 80% of total ionite volume. EFFECT: improved reliability of filter operation and reduced hydraulic resistance of ionite bed to 80-56 kPa. 1 tbl
