FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: sodium-cationite-mediated method for softening water involves averaging when stirring most mineralized parts of solution, step-by-step dosage of reagents while evenly dosing lime in the first stage under simultaneous stirring, dosing soda in the second stage at stirring (ratio of lime dosage duration to soda dosage duration being 6:1 to 8: 1), settling solution to separate precipitate, mechanically dehydrating the latter, and dosing sodium chloride solution into clarified regeneration solution in the third stage. EFFECT: increased degree of clarification of exhausted salt regeneration solution, improved water-loss capacity of precipitate, and prevented loss of salt. 2 tbl, 3 ex
