FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: lithium is poured into furnace reactor, which is then evacuated and flushed with inert gas. Lithium is heated, aged to precipitate heavy metal impurities, and filtered under inert gas overpressure, after which lithium is crystallized in upward direction to form ingots. Installation comprises furnace enclosing reactor, inert gas- supply means, filter, ingot molds with heat-insulation dome with cooling means disposed under mold bottom, lithium melt tapping pipe connected to filter with its one end and to mold feeder head with its other end, box and barrel accommodating upper part of pipe with filter, and barrel having lithium overflowing canals. Degree of lithium purification is thus increased by a factor of 1.8-2.0 and power consumption is decreased by 2.0 to 2.5 times. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 16 cl, 1 dwg
