FIELD: production of lithium-aluminium alloys on lithium base containing 5 to 15 percent by mass of aluminium. SUBSTANCE: the method of production of lithium-aluminium alloys based on lithium consists in spray pouring of melted aluminium into liquid lithium overheated above the melting point of intermetallic compound LiAl, up to 720 to 740 C. This specific feature prevents formation of solid phases at dissolution of aluminium in lithium and facilitates accelerated, uniform distribution of the alloying constituent in the alloy, it also suppresses interaction of the alloy constituents with the materials of melting crucible. The device for accomplishment of this method provides for a separate smelting of lithium in an iron crucible, and aluminium in a graphite crucible with a perforated bottom. Pouring-off aluminium into melted lithium by jets and drops through the perforated bottom with holes dispersed over the exposed surface of lithium alloy facilitates uniform distribution of aluminium in alloy volume, and retention of solid residues of aluminium oxide films on the bottom surface, preventing fouling of the alloy with non-metallic inclusions.
