FIELD: excitation of controllable hydrodynamic cavitation, for example, for heating fluid medium and/or dispersing solid or liquid materials in it. SUBSTANCE: device has axisymmetric through-flow passage for pumping main flow of fluid medium and hole in wall of this passage for delivery of disturbing jet into main flow and excitation of hydrodynamic cavitation. To reduce hydraulic losses and noise and to enhanced reliability and efficiency, this hole is open directly to cavity of passage and its geometric axis intersects geometric axis of passage at angle of -60 to +45 deg. It is good practice to have several such holes for delivery of disturbing jets into main flow of the same or another chemical composition of fluid medium.
