Abstract RU 2139647 C1

FIELD: plasma engineering; space engineering. SUBSTANCE: accelerator magnetic system has two magnetic-field sources, magnetic circuit, and three pairs of ring-shaped magnetic poles. First pair of magnetic poles is arranged around annular acceleration and ionization channel on its open end and forms end part of accelerator. First magnetic-field source is placed between internal magnetic poles of first and second pairs. Second magnetic-field source is arranged around external wall of annular channel between external magnetic poles of first and third pairs. External pole of third pair is mounted between buffer chamber and external pole of first pair. Internal pole of third pair is formed on central core; it is placed against buffer chamber and displaced from plane of external pole of this pair towards gas distributor. In this way, accelerator efficiency rises to 65-72% and beam divergence semi-angle is reduced to less than 15 deg. EFFECT: improved efficiency, reduced beam divergence semi-angle, reduced total mass and size of accelerator. 11 cl, 3 dwg
