FIELD: tyre industry. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, metal-reinforced rubber articles, such as automobile tyres, are cooled to brittleness temperature, ground and divided into components. Articles are embrittled to temperature lower than rubber brittleness temperature defined by relation: where Tsc is supercooling temperature degrees; Tamb is ambient temperature; degree; Tbr is brittleness temperature of rubber of this grade, degrees; ttech is time required for preparation for grinding, s; theat is time required for heating of articles from brittleness temperature to ambient temperature. Then articles are ground by impulse load created by explosion of explosive charge. EFFECT: optimization of process of tyre utilization at minimum expenses, without requirement of complex equipment; no adverse effect on environment. 7 cl, 3 dwg
