FIELD: reclamation and utilization of rubber waste of production and usage of rubber articles, in particular, autotires and conveyer belts, rubber hoses, driving belts, etc. SUBSTANCE: physico-chemical process of break-down of rubber under action of ozone is basis of invention. Stressed state of rubber rises substantially rate of its break. Small amount of energy is used for creation and maintenance of deformed state of articles and only small quantity of ozone is sufficient for cracking of rubber which ensures small energy consumption for processing of rubber articles by proposed method that amounts to not less than 0.1 kWh per kg and might be reduced up to 0.02 kWh/kg. Reinforcing members are completely separated from rubber without fouling it with rubber fragments. This procedure allows clean rubber crumb and metal free of rubber to be obtained without complex multistep schemes for separation of rubber from small fragments of reinforcing members with usage of equipment for removal of rubber residuals from metal wire, cord and nylon threads.
