FIELD: mining of coal and other minerals from thick steep beds. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of stoping block by shield method of mining, stoping of coal in horizontal layers downward under shields extensible roofing, roofing control as down stoping advances. Stopping block is divided along the strike into equal parts by driving of coal chutes at seam floor from layer to haulage drift. Coal from one and the other sides of layer to coal chute is transported by upper and lower sides of conveyor belt, respectively. At conjunction point of coal chute and haulage drift, coal is unloaded on belt of same conveyor. EFFECT: higher efficiency of mining of thick steep coal seams due to reduced expenditures for driving of development workings. 5 dwg
