FIELD: mining industry; applicable in mining of coal and other minerals from thick flat beds. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of long extraction pillar by belt and air headings, division of bed thickness into two layers, laying of supporting beams in grooves on upper layer foot, drilling of guide holes over boundary of layers toward side of pillar extraction, pushing into holes of supporting beams, mechanized extraction of coal from both layers with organization of transport along breakage face and transfer of transported coal onto junctions of breakage faces with belt heading. In this case, coal extraction is carried out in turn, first, one strip in lower layer, then, a few strips in upper layer. EFFECT: higher efficiency of mining of thick flat coal beds, reduced specific metal content in mining equipment and labor input in mounting operations. 5 dwg
