FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of extraction pillar by driving of development workings and mounting room, mounting of stoping equipment, dividing the seam by thickness into two inclined layers, simultaneous mechanized extraction of upper and lower layers with leading advance of face of upper layer and haulage of broken coal along face. Mounting room is driven with inclination to strike line to side of subsequent extraction of pillar. Installed in each borehole is one end of supporting beam. The other end of said beam is connected to hydraulic prop and ram. Installed in each supporting beam is drilling tool and hydraulic jack of its feed. Neighboring supporting beams are coupled by rigid guard to form support unit. In extraction of coal strip in upper layer, exposed roof is supported by extensible support canopies, broken coal is transported along face by gravity and layer is ventilated with use of air current from lower layer. EFFECT: higher efficiency of mining of thick steep coal seams due to organization of gravity haulage of coal along face, increased face load and reduced frequency of mounting-dismantling jobs. 4 dwg
