FIELD: compression of working medium. SUBSTANCE: centrifugal compressor has housing, impeller mounted on shaft and supporting and thrust bearing units with seals. Each seal is made in form of pair: fixed disk revolving chamber embracing this disk at spaced relation. Cavity between circular chamber and disk is connected by means of passage with source of sealing liquid. On either side of disk cavities are closed by seals connected with opening drive. According to one version, compressor has ring on one lateral wall of revolving chamber which is engageable with labyrinth seal. Passages connecting the cavities of circular chamber with source of liquid are made in fixed disk. EFFECT: avoidance of wear parts in sealing units; enhanced reliability; simplified construction; low cost. 3 cl, 2 dwg
