FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: rotary piston Wankel engine has at least one pair of rotary-piston Wankel sections. Combustion chambers are brought out of volumetric displacement space to external surface of stator. For this purpose two additional gas bypass ports are made in each of two sections of stator. Engine has additionally two relatively intersecting gas channels with direct-flow combustion chambers. Gas channels connect gas bypass ports. Zone of intersection of gas channels forms recuperative heat exchanger. EFFECT: increased reliability and efficiency of operation of rotary piston engine. 5 dwg
