FIELD: radiation protection. SUBSTANCE: solution incorporating parent radionuclide is passed through sorbent material; in the process, part of sorbent material is heated up together with mentioned solution. Process takes as much time as required to saturate sorbent material with parent radionuclide at given temperature. Daughter radionuclide is eluted throughout entire volume of sorbent material at operating temperature of device. Solution incorporating parent radionuclide is heated at inlet to sorbent material to temperature ranging between high value determined by physical and chemical stability of solution and low value chosen to be higher than operating temperature of device. Device for producing sterile radionuclides has column that holds sorbent and parent radionuclide and is surrounded by radiation shield, plug, eluent and eluate pipelines connected to column and fixed in seats of device flange. Column is made of sorbing and filtering material placed inside casing; sorbing material is arranged at point of eluent inlet to column and has heating element.
