FIELD: preparation of radionuclides. SUBSTANCE: generator consists of column with sorbent packed by layers, structure members to hold sorbents and to form uniform liquid flow across section of column. Generator is distinguished by the following layered sorbent packing (in dilution direction): acidic alumina form layer containing adsorbed molybdenum-99 (if necessary) and manganese(IV) oxide adsorbed on silica gel layer containing adsorbed radionuclide molybdenum-99 and acidic alumina form - layer containing adsorbed radionuclide molybdenum-99 and basic and neutral alumina forms. In a method, wherein technetium-99m is eluted with physiologic solution on column with carrier containing adsorbed molybdenum-99, adsorption of the latter is performed from nitric acid solution within pH range between 4 and 7. EFFECT: stabilized high yield of sterile solution of technetium- 99m from generator column and increased purity of eluate owing to scavenge of molybdenum-99 and manganese(II) oxidant. 8 cl, 3 dwg, 2 tbl
