FIELD: agriculture and ecology, in particular, plant growing and environment protection. SUBSTANCE: method involves selecting plants with directional change in phytosterol spectrum in the course of cell selection on the basis of selective agents. Selected plants possess complex resistance to wide group of phytosterol dependent pests (insects, fungus, nematode etc) and are ecologically clean due to avoiding usage of pesticides in the process of growing. Method allows selection time to be reduced from 5-8 years to 1 year. Plants grown in accordance with such method facilitate reduction in population of pests, such as phytoflora and Colorado potato beetles, whose development depends from sterols of plants, such as nightshade plants (potato, tomato etc).
