FIELD: plant breeding. SUBSTANCE: method comprises irradiation of starting material by gamma-emission in dose 1500- 3000 Roentgens. Culturing of material is carried out on selective nutritive medium containing toxic concentration of cultural filtrate of pathogen. Plants selected according to their resistance are planted out and subsequent selection of pathogenresistant plants is performed. In this case, starting material is in vitrogrown intact plants. Culturing of grafts is first accomplished on medium containing 40-50% of cultural filtrate of strain Rhizoctonia solani AG 3 No 1 and then on medium containing 80-100% of cultural filtrate of strain Rhizoctonia solani AG 3 No 2.
