METHOD OF PREPARATION OF IMPLANTS OF LIGAMENTS AND TENDONS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; applicable in traumatology for surgical treatment of ligaments and tendons. SUBSTANCE: method consists in knitting of two sections from knitting yarns which are combined by section from nonknitted longitudinal oriented knitting yarns to form knitted fabric with subsequent rolling to obtain implant in form of roll. Implants from knitted fabric of various width are tested for tension and subjected to cyclic tests and tests for thermal ageing. Test results are used for determination of strength of tested fabric and its comparison with strength of human ligament. Optimal width of knitted fabric for implant is determined by strength of implant larger than of human ligament. Width corresponds to number of lateral threads of knitted sections of knitted fabric. Nonknitted sections are formed from knitting yarns twisted to side corresponding to left-hand or right-hand implant side. In case of preparation of implant of knee joint ligament, intake ends of knitted sections of implant knitted fabric are knitted with reduced density for fastening with tape for pulling through. In case of preparation of split implant of knee joint ligament, one of knitted sections of roll of knitted fabric is separated by longitudinal incision into rollers. Built in each roller is tape for pulling through. EFFECT: higher efficiency of treatment, increased convenience in performance of operations and reduced costs of implant. 3 cl, 4 dwg
