FIELD: insulation of pipelines. SUBSTANCE: method and device relate to protection of pipelines used for transportation of various products and substances. Insulating tape is used for protection from earth corrosion of trunk pipelines carrying oil and oil products, gas pipelines, sewerage lines, etc. According to method, applied to flexible tape is insulating layer. After that, thickness of flexible tape with applied insulation layer is calibrated, and tape is then cooled. After cooling of flexible tape, layer of antiadhesive material is applied to insulating layer. Flexible tape is subjected to pulling force during entire route of its movement through processing line. This is accompanied with additional cooling of flexible tape in air stream by multiple folding it within air stream acting zone on power-driven drums being positively cooled. Before winding of flexible tape on receiving drum, tape is preliminarily relieved of residual deformations. After that, final winding up of tape into roll is performed when tape is not stressed. Equipment for production of insulating tape includes unwinding device, insulating material application unit, tape thickness calibration unit, tape drawing device, system for preliminary cooling of tape, and device for winding up tape into roll. Setup of equipment is additionally provided with system of additional air cooling, unit for application of antiadhesive material, and relieving tape collector located between additional air cooling system and device for winding up tape into roll. Application of aforesaid method and equipment allows for production of high-quality insulating tape with mastic coating together with winding up of ready tape into non-deformable rolls of required diameter.
