FIELD: transportation through pipes of various products and substances, more specifically, technology of production of insulating tapes designed for protection from soil corrosion of main oil and oil product pipelines, gas pipelines, sewer pipes, etc. SUBSTANCE: method of insulating tape production is supplemented by preliminary stretching of flexible tape to eliminate its deformation prior to application of insulating layer, and layer of antiadhesive material is applied to insulating layer directly before coiling of insulating tape. Plant for production of insulating tape has device for preliminary tensioning of flexible tape. Device is located ahead of unit for application of insulating mastic and made, for instance, in the form of pressure roller hinged to lever rigidly fastened to base of flexible tape welding unit. Journals of antiadhesive material application unit fixing tape coil to antiadhesive material are located for provision of supply of antiadhesive material directly from coil and directly to inlet pressure roller of unit coiling insulating tape into coil of ready for use product. Technical result of the invention consists in provision of conditions for qualitative application of mastic layer to tape and tape coiling into coil by exclusion of nonsanctioned spreading of applied mastic over initial tape and exclusion of formation of corrugations.
