PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE OF BULLET JACKET Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: ammunition for hunting guns. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to processes of manufacture of metal jacket of bullet of shotgun shell designed for shooting from weapon with rifled tube open on side of tail part and closed on side of tip that has adjoining head part formed along radius. Semi-finished jacket is manufactured by cutting and coiling of hollow cap and making of multitransition drawings with reduction. Then hollow lug with profile part near tip closed on side of tip and transition section from its profile part to head one is pressed out from head part of semi-finished jacket as one unit with growth of length of semi-finished jacket and reduction of thickness of its width over pressed- out section. Pressing out is carried out with the aid of die with profiled section corresponding to outer profile of head part of semi-finished jacket and with section having longitudinal through hole located away from zone of location of tip of head part of semi-finished jacket in die and coaxial to profile section and punch having guiding section which geometric parameters do not fall beyond inner profile of semi- finished jacket during its possible movement along axis and positioning relative to semi-finished jacket, with working section and transition section located between guiding and working sections. Die is placed coaxially with regard to punch with circular clearance between working section of punch and profiled section of die that diminishes in process of pressing out. During process of pressing out outer surface of head part of semi-finished jacket is born against proper section of profiled part of die and working part of punch acts on wall of head part of semi-finished jacket bordering on tip. EFFECT: manufacture of bullet jacket deforming in tissue of animal and having increased range of reliable hitting. 4 cl, 18 dwg
