FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, methods and devices for continuous casting. SUBSTANCE: the machine has the upper and lower casting construction comprising continuous bands and chains moving at synchronized speeds. The casting constructions are brought together to form a moulding channel that is filled with smelt delivered from the feeder discharge unit through a feeding casting nozzle. As the smelt passes through the moulding channel, it solidifies in accordance with the configuration of the moulding channel. Each band is positioned with the external side with respect to the respective chain in such a manner that the band smooth surface would form the surface of the moulding channel; as a result, formation of burrs in the gaps between the casting units forming the chain is prevented, protection of chain blocks would be provided, and deformation of chain blocks would be prevented. The upper and lower chain blocks have projections on the opposite chain blocks for formation of side walls of the moulding channel. Adjustment of the width of the moulding channel is effected by means of sliding displacement of one chain relative to the other.
