FIELD: sterilization of liquids. SUBSTANCE: device has horizontal cylindrical chamber with liquid inlet and outlet pipe connections, liquid level gage, pulse- operated optical radiation source, and pump with drive; chamber diameter is chosen from expression Dc= Dr+2l, where Dc is chamber diameter, Dr is outer diameter of radiator, 21 is calculated or experimentally found distance covered by rays to attain sterilizing effect. Optical radiation source is pulse- operated and has radiator, storage capacitor, and control panel that interconnects all systems of unit through control coupling. Power supply is sectionalized device with number of sections depending on h = No/N relation, where No is number of pulses per minute ensuring desired capacity and quality of sterilization; N1 is maximal permissible number of pulses per minute for chosen type of capacitors. Unit is provided with selector switch that functions to change over storage capacitor sections connected to radiator; chamber and pipe connections are arranged in same horizontal plane; level gage is mounted in central part of chamber, at top point of its normal section; water shut-off device is installed in inlet section of outlet pipe connection to shut off liquid flow. EFFECT: improved capacity and sterilizing effect of unit. 1 dwg
