FIELD: waste water purification. SUBSTANCE: liquid stream is exposed to at least two pulses of light irradiation with spectrum width 0.2-4.5 mcm and duration not more than 0.1 s each under oxidizing atmosphere, for example, air, power of optical irradiation in each pulse exceeding ignition threshold of organics contained in irradiated medium. Treatment of medium with one or several series of pulses proceeds until smoke outbursts resulted from burning organics is terminated. Simultaneously liquid is made free from various-type microorganisms. EFFECT: intensified disinfection process. 2 cl
